Coastal Inspired Dining Room

The Coast. There is something about the way the waves hit the shore, the smell of the salty air, and childlikeness that leave an impression on us. The coast not only heightens our senses but draws us in. These feelings evoke something in us that we want to replicate. We decorate our homes and spaces from the things that impressions on us--and the coast is that for many people. From the blue hues of the water to the light and airy colors of the sand and rocks-- the coastal colors bring rest, refreshment and a calmness into a home.

Now just because you don't live at the beach doesn't mean you cant channel coastal vibes in your home. Think soft blues and greens, warm sandy- neutrals, natural fibers and textures. Keep it casual!

And while we are on the topic, if you happen to live on the coast this does not mean you need to make EVERYTHING beachy and cheesy. Pass on coral and fish prints and cheesy phrases on your wall! "Life's a beach" on reclaimed wood is always a NO.

Today we are channeling our inner coast and bringing it inside to a clients dining room. Most of these items can be found at Sarah Virginia Home (see links below).
